Malaysia’s Police Urged to Undergo Robust AI Training to Combat Crime

An artificial intelligence expert in Malaysia has urged the police to train their officers adequately before adopting the technology to combat crimes.

The call by Azree Nazri, president of the Artificial Intelligence Society Malaysia, comes as Malaysia aims to use AI to help tackle a rise in commercial offences.

Azree said police officers must understand the functions of generative AI and how to interpret insights generated by the technology before deploying it to assist in commercial crime investigations.
